What Is File Extension WRI?

Categories: General Mobile News

Prior to microsoft word, there is a word processor called Windows Write which uses the file extension wri.   The closes relative of windows write in today’s world is wordpad.  This was during the Windows 1.0, 2.0, and 3.x era which probably most young people now did not experience.

There is no DOC files then, only the ascii TXT file extention, and file extension WRI for “write”.  The application was later on improved to handle the early versions of windows word (.doc) files.

Nowadays, since most computers doesn’t have any “windows write” files, it is rarely to see WRI related errors but if there is,  most probably it is a registry related error which can be fixed by the usual registry fixing software out in the market.
