Third Party Apps For iPhone

Has Steve Jobs and the rest of Apple Corp. gotten soft? Have they finally relented to the immense pressure building all around them? Have they gotten to a point wherein they have given up from the struggles with almost everyone out to destroy the reputation of their new baby? Have their mobile phone already reached a point wherein it has to compromise now?

That seems to be the set of questions lingering in people’s minds nowadays. That is, after the company announced that they intend to release a mobile software development kit (SDK) for developers in February so that third parties can create applications for the iPhone, as well as the iPod Touch. This sure is a blow to those who moved mountains trying to put applications without permission from the company. All good things come to those who wait, perhaps? Has this been part of the plan all along?
