The excitement over the latest smartphone from Palm is starting to go over lately. With the launch coems the expectations and the details are just about ready to pop. With that in mind, here is what has been making the rounds over at the Internet about the phone.
The product is called Palm 500, and it uses a standard version of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system. Aside from that, it runs on 3G mobile phone networks and will reportedly be sold by Vodafone, a British mobile phone operator. This is according to details of a scanned advertisement from the Dutch subsidiary of The Phone Shop, which has appeared on numerous blogs. It could be recalled that Vodafone had an exclusive agreement for the Palm Treo 750v.
The Treo 500 appears to be targeted at the consumer market, equipped with the Windows Mobile 6 Standard OS, which does not support touch-screen functionality.
