Teen Unlocks iPhone

It seems after a year of anticipating the challenge and months of trying to do what its manufacturer boasted was not yet possible, a teenager has finally succeded in unlocking the secret of the iPhone. Apple and AT&T probably did not want this to happen but could it be that the inevitable has happened this early in the game? So it seems, if we are to believe the news reports that have been flooding in as of late.

A 17-year old hacker based in New Jersey has done what others have been trying to do all these few weeks: unlock the iPhone in order to use it away from AT&T, the official exclusive network of the much talked-about product. George Hotz is now officially a celebrity as he was able to use his iPhone unit through T-Mobile, another network. It seems his unit can now be used while connected to any other network. Of course, lawsuits could come flooding his way, aside from numerous phone calls. Still, the once-insurmountable task is something he is probably proud of and companies possibly angered about.

Moreover, consider his warranty contract voided. Which is probably the least of his worries for now. Currently, he is basking in his glory.
