Two mobile phone operators are about top duke it out anytime soon. T-Mobile and Vodafone are looking for their day in court after the latter filed a legal dispute against the former regarding the sale of the very controversial Apple mobile phone called the iPhone.

Vodafone is alleging its rival that it is in violation of German competition law. Since T-Mobile is selling the iPhone as a unsubsidized, locked handset with a 24-month contract, Vodafone raised its arms up in protest. Early this week, a court in Hamburg, Germany granted a temporary injunction against T-Mobile, although the terms of that order do not stop the operator from selling the iPhone.

T-Mobile has since claimed that the accusation is is untrue. For their part, Vodafone would like to see a court eventually mandate that T-Mobile sell an unlocked version of the iPhone for the same or less as today’s locked version.
