5 megapixels. This is clearly the new benchmark for many cellular phone companies who are out to attract the most discriminating of tastes. A high resolution camera is now one of the best selling points of every phone. Nokia raised the bar and now, it is time for Samsung to follow suit with their own phone with a 5 megapixel camera.

The Samsung SGH-G800 is that phone. Before you assume it is sexy, it is a stout unit. It has plenty of other features as well. There is a music and video player, an FM radio, stereo Bluetooth and support for 3.5G HSDPA networks. These features are mighty fine as well, if you are concerned with such matters. Missing though is Wi-Fi and other high-end features that you would want to find in such price range.

The call quality is quite good as well, so there is no need to worry that this phone is all about the 5 megapixels. It is just that, the Samsung SGH-G800 could have been a lot more than what it ended up becoming. Therefore, it comes up short of raising the bar to another notch.
