For all of us who have seen too much complications in life, sometimes our respite could come from mobile phones. Yes, there are phones that offer too much. Bloated software and features thrown together to attract anybody and everybody. However, from time to time, there are basic phones that is devoid of any complication.

Enter the Samsung SGH-A117. It is built and released as somewhat the anti-extremely tech heavy phone. It is a phone that is straight-up with buyers who wish for simplicity. And simple it definitely is. It is a phone that is for calling and texting. The design is monotonous but it is user-friendly as well. Its size is compact too. The main display supports 65,000 colors in its 1.75 inch display. The features are stripped to the bare necessities: alarm clock, calculator, speakerphone and the like.

The call quality is quite decent as well. What sticks out like a sore thumb though, is the despicable quality of the speakerphone. Nonetheless, the basic phone delivers its promise.
