We have all heard of the old adage, “Two heads are better than one”. Two is not too much, even if it involves two of the biggest brands in the world. The news is in: Nokia is partnering itself with Microsoft to aid its wireless entertainment. The cell phone company will start using the software titan’s copy protection software to help its wireless
entertainment, such as music and videos.
The technology of Microsoft, PlayReady, will allow Nokia mobile phone users to share content that is otherwise protected, between cell phones, PCs and other devices. Also, Nokia will license the DRM (digital rights management) technology and affix it into its S60 software platform. Now, a Nokia cell phone user would be able to purchase music or video games through their phones, then later on immerse it into their desktops. Others would be able to share it into other Nokia phones as well.
