Nokia has made a small and significant acquisition to boost its stake as a mobile dynamo.
They have acquired Twango, a small, private media-sharing company. How small? Try a ten person company that is being run in a basement in Redmond, Washington. Yes, that small! Still, small could end up being beautiful for the mobile giant.
See, Nokia sees some potential in Twango and clearly loves what they have forecasted. With their latest acquisition, the company hopes it could go to an easy way in providing people with ways to share multimedia content through mobile devices and even personal computers. They see the company helping them share photos, videos and an array of document files to add to their list that includes games and music.
Twango is a free-of-charge sevice that enables users to upload files from mobile phones either via e-mail or a PC with a Web browser. The files go into a virtual repository for the users, who can share files via multiple channels of their own choice.
