Coming hot on the heels of the widely reviewed first Chocolate phone, LG comes up with another entry to it. The LG Chocolate VX8550 is another slim and sexy phone that offers style with substance. What it also subconsciously aims for is to supplant its predecessor by surpassing it and making sure it delivers on what the original failed in. There were a chock full of shortcomings in the first one, the 8500, if you could remember that last year.
With a design that does not alienate the first Chocolate-named phone, it is definitely a sight to behold. With dimensions of 3.85 x 1.87 x 0.67 inches, it is quite a tad bigger. The 2.2 inch diagonal display offers a 240 x 320 pixel resolution that is supported by 262,000 colors. Doing away with the badly reviewed navigation toggle that was too touch-sensitive for lots of people, it incorporates a mechanical scroll wheel with a confirmation key in the middle. However, some buttons surrounding it are still touch-sensitive.
The VX8550 supports 3G, EV-DO and could even download music. It also has a 3 megapixel camera that has a decent but flawed image quality.
