iPhone Hack Laws

You want to hack your own iPhone? Just when you thought it would be easier to do these days, you have another thing coming to you. It seems individuals would not be part of this new exercise in the mobile phone world. This is after one of the groups that claims it has developed an unlock hack for Apple Inc.’s iPhone is now saying it will only offer it to resellers, not to individuals, a popular technology blog (Engadget) reported in its site.

The group iPhoneSIMFree said it would not sell the unlock directly to iPhone owners. Late last month, iPhoneSIMFree said it had created software which would let iPhone owners make calls on different mobile networks other than AT&T. The company is more known as the exclusive carrier in the United States. It can be recalled that iPhones are supposed to be activated only with AT&T, and buyers must also subscribe to a two-year AT&T network plan.

iPhoneSIMFree’s statement also outlined the unlock process and made known its pricing structure. The unlock requires that a file be installed on the iPhone, and a connection made to the iPhoneSIMFree servers; theservers would then link the specific iPhone to the unlock. Resellers will handle a part of the procedure.
