Greenpeace Criticizes iPhone

Guess what, iPhone is as infamous as it is famous. Take it from the environmental group Greenpeace. Remember, this does not exactly bode well for Apple Corp. as their highly popular phone has received all kinds of news and publicity lately that, frankly, it has no more room for another bad rap. Especially from a world renowned organization such as Greenpeace.

The environmental group has apparently disassembled an iPhone unit to find out what’s inside. Now, they claim to have uncovered 2 types of hazardous substances. What’s more, the hazardous items have already been dissuaded by other mobile phone makers. This analysis claims the iPhone contains toxic brominated compounds (indicating the presence of brominated flame retardants) and hazardous PVC.

What is the recommendation of Greenpeace? That Apple initiate a global take-back policy on the iPhone. Yikes.
