T-Mobile were forced to sell unlocked versions of the iPhone for quite a time. This time though, they may now return to selling the locked versions of Apple Corp.’s mobile gadget in the country. This is after a verdict by a court in the city of Hamburg allowed the locked versions.

The company’s rival, Vodafone, sued them for allegedly the sale of locked phones tied to a two-year contract breached German consumer protection laws. It could be recalled that the court temporarily ordered T-Mobile to sell an unlocked version of the phone, with no restrictive contract, while it decided the case. That let T-Mobile to sell the unlocked iPhones without a service contract while awaiting for the final decision of the court.

Now, Germans are going to be left with locked iPhones with a plan with T-Mobile. No word yet on what action Vodafone would undertake after the ruling was handed out.

After tremendous amount of pressure, mostly coming from one of its fiercest rivals, mobile network operator T-Mobile has bowed in and will then sell an unlocked version of the iPhone in Germany. Of course, it goes without saying that the legal battle would still proceed.

This is in concurrence to a court injunction requested by Vodafone mandating that T-Mobile either sell an unlocked version of the iPhone or withdraw the product from the market. Vodafone insisted that German competition law prohibits an operator from selling a locked phone with a two-year contract. Last week, T-Mobile announced it will sell an unlocked version of the iPhone for $1481. T-Mobile sells a locked 8GB iPhone in Germany for 399 euros including 19 percent value-added tax.

The unlocked version means that users can put in a SIMÂ card from another operator and subscribe to a different plan.

T-Mobile and Vodafone are looking for their day in court after the latter filed a legal dispute against the former regarding the sale of the very controversial Apple mobile phone called the iPhone.

Vodafone is alleging its rival that it is in violation of German competition law. Since T-Mobile is selling the iPhone as a unsubsidized, locked handset with a 24-month contract, Vodafone raised its arms up in protest. Early this week, a court in Hamburg, Germany granted a temporary injunction against T-Mobile, although the terms of that order do not stop the operator from selling the iPhone.

T-Mobile has since claimed that the accusation is is untrue. For their part, Vodafone would like to see a court eventually mandate that T-Mobile sell an unlocked version of the iPhone for the same or less as today’s locked version.

T-Mobile’s newest service, the Hotspot@Home service has contributed to the conjunction of two phones being released. One of them is the Nokia 6086. The service allows users to make calls via Wi-Fi without using any of your allotted minutes. What is even better, it actually makes the phone’s reception quite better.

The Nokia 6086 is also an Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) phone which means it is a cell phone that can automatically switch calls between regular GSM to wireless networks. At a bulky 1.8 inches wide, the design is still quite attractive. However, the inside display of the phone is where the problem lies. It has 1.75 inch display that only has a 128×160 pixel resolution. The menu in turn looks blurry.

This phone also has a VGA camera and its phone book has a 500-contact capability. Loads of other features are infused here, including instant messaging, multimedia messaging and Bluetooth.

The issue for innovating mobile phones are not a new thing for everyone, specially now adays, where different type, sizes, features and even styles were being released by different cellphone makers. And one of the phones that really give me a kick is when I saw this HTC Universal (also known as T-Mobile MDA Pro, Orange SPV M5000) the first Windows Mobile 5.0 and the first 3G, though there are many 3G that was already released in the market, but this is the only Pocket PC Phone that comes with a VGA Resolution 640×480 pixels, and it is more faster than other, Intel Xscale 520 MHz.

Need more?!…

Somebody would defintiely think that this is not a mobile phone, they might come up with their mind that this is just a super mini-notebook with cellular functionalities, because of it’s features that cannot be found on many cellphone unit. What great thing about this one, is that it has a capability to upgrade the memory or the hard drive by inserting SD Memory card on memory slot, then you can now download many programs that you like as long as it is supported by the phones.
