This compact addition to its growing line of Smart Phones is a welcome inclusion as it is a simple joy for sure. The Centro is compact and most reviews have indicated that it is definitely intended for those who wish to have their first experience in a Smart Phone to be a simple one.

The Centro measures 4.2 inches by 2.1 by 0.7 inches and weighs 4.2 ounces. This is essentially fit for those who are young yet would want to have a Smart Phone for their everyday business. It comes with a 320 x3 20 touch screen that is measured at 2.25 inches and also has a full QWERTY keyboard. So, it is a smart phone that is quite compact.

The Centro is equipped with Palm OS 5.4.9 and comes with 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM. The microSD slot can accept up to 4GB cards. However, it lacks a 3G support, which could be a potential downer for the potential buyers out there.

Â

What stands out is it offers dual-mode functionality for seamless international roaming with voice coverage in 180 countries and data services in 100 countries. This incorporates Windows Mobile 6 so expect it to be a contender in the smartphone market.

This smartphone is quite slim too. With its dimensions of 4.6 x 2.3 x 0.4 inches, it is a slimmer phone already compared to some of its competitors. The 2.3 inch screen has a 65,000 color support with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The QWERTY keyboard is obviously in use here, being a smartphone, geniuses.

The Samsung Ace SPH-i325 also features Bluetooth, EV-DO and a 1.3 megapixel camera. However, if you are looking for such features like Wi-Fi and 3G, better look somewhere else.

The company has released a free download that allows the users of BlackBerry smart phones to sync their device with the company’s application called Google Calendar. Thing is, how so?

Actually, it is quite easy. The phone users can go to m.google.com/sync via their BlackBerry’s Web browser to download and install the software. Another step is to install it on their PC running the BlackBerry desktop software, and then install it to the BlackBerry via a USB connection later on.

Syncing the Google Calendar to the BlackBerry lets users view their schedule even when the wireless reception is poor or unavailable, such as when they are riding a subway or airplane.

When Samsung ventured in Blackjack II, thoughts of many went back to the original BlackJack. It was definitely one of the most sought after smart phones in teh market this year. It had lots of things that worked pretty well. The phone had solid messaging capabilities, 3G support and good call quality. That is not even mentioning the sleek design. However, some say the battery issues that plagued the phone prevented it to maximize its appeal.

The Samsung BlackJack II, on the other hand, is an even better phone. That is quite a surprise, including the fact that it also has a different, revamped design. Among its many additions are Windows Mobile 6, GPS and a 2-megapixel camera. Also, It improves its performance level and an even larger display than its predecessor. There is also a bigger memory than the previous incarnation. Others include full QWERTY keyboard as well as HSDPA support, Bluetooth , and AT&T Video Share support.

It has its faults, including the lack of Wi-Fi. Still, t is a great way to succeed the original.

The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8130 is the CDMA version of the popular GSM phone. The look and design is the same as its predecessor. It is still compact but still manages to be sexy at the same time. The slim profile is still there with measurements of 4.2 inches long by 1.9 inches wide by 0.5 inch deep and weighing 3.4 ounces. The silver or black chassis is quite outstanding to look at. Sounds familiar? Well, it is the same as the original.

It has 2.25 inch screen that displays 65,536 colors and has a 260 x 240 pixel resolution. What sets it apart from the previous incarnation, though, is the set of new features the BlackBerry Pearl has to offer now. Among the many additions are GPS, 2-megapixel camera, EV-DO support, video recording and 3G support. Also, the Web browser is better than ever.

Soem have complained about the complicated SureType keyboard as well as the above average call quality. Still, the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 is undoubtedly an improved version of an already impressive smart phone.

Remember, their BlackBerry was the wave of the future in the mobile phone market. They were the toast of the mobile world, especially those who wanted a phone to suit their corporate looks.

Now, they are believed by many to be engaging iPhone to a battle. They are said to be working on a BlackBerry set to rival Apple Corp.’s highly touted phone with a touchscreen device of their own. The BlackBerry 9000 series will be aimed at the consumer market, where the BlackBerry Pearl has enjoyed plenty of success since its launch last year marked a change of direction for RIM.

While no official announcements have been made, the 9000 series is said to set to appear in the first quarter of next year.

RIM BlackBerry has made a mark in the mobile market in recent years. Their products have been great to use and have been practical for those who are always on the go and living their lives in a handheld way. The smart phone has become a hit in a few years time and it aims to continue its success with the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310.

It is just like the original Curve from the same manufacturer. Only this time, they have added some GPS capabilities. They look just the same but only its features have done a make-over of sorts. Its navigation services are quite top-notch. It also has Bluetooth and EDGE to go along with it. The Curve 8310 also comes with a 2 megapixel camera. It supports MP3 and MIDI ringtones.

Drawbacks include not offering either Wi-Fi or 3G and the phonebook is quite limited. Still, the added features and efficient call quality should make this a good choice for those who love smart phones.

Some have noted its affinity to the M600i while some have noted its resemblance to the 990i. However, the latter is said to be closest and is regarded as its predecessor. In fact, some have noted that it is quite a vast improvement from the previous installment. It is a definite upgrade, to be exact.

Sony Ericsson P1i could boast of such good features like a touch screen that is regarded as beautiful by a lot of reviews, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Also, there is a 3.2-megapixel camera for those who want to take snapshots. This Symbian smartphone also offers a capable e-mail capabilities, productivity apps for the mobile professional, and most importantly, a good call quality.

It comes with some drawbacks as well. The interface can also be overcomplicated, and the user is actually limited to the company’s headset and expansion cards. All in all, it is still quite a phone with the many upgrades it has done.

It takes a lot of effort to be able to satisfy people. In the mobile world, like everywhere else, there are equal amounts of rants and raves. Of course, some phones are just better than the others. Some are more popular. Most importantly, some leave a better impression amongst others.

The BlackBerry of Research In Motion was adjudged the leaders in handhelds in a recent ranking of business smartphone user satisfaction. On the other hand, handheld devices from Palm and Samsung had to settle for a tie for second place. Overall smartphone satisfaction was measured in six key areas: ease of operation; operating system (OS); physical design; audio quality; battery life; and utility features.

In the said report, the RIM’s specific strengths that were held high were the speed of its BlackBerry OS and the long-lasting battery life of its smartphones. Clearly, BlackBerry would get a mild boost in sales once envious people get wind of it. They would be raring to find out what teh fuss is all about.

With the launch coems the expectations and the details are just about ready to pop. With that in mind, here is what has been making the rounds over at the Internet about the phone.

The product is called Palm 500, and it uses a standard version of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system. Aside from that, it runs on 3G mobile phone networks and will reportedly be sold by Vodafone, a British mobile phone operator. This is according to details of a scanned advertisement from the Dutch subsidiary of The Phone Shop, which has appeared on numerous blogs. It could be recalled that Vodafone had an exclusive agreement for the Palm Treo 750v.

The Treo 500 appears to be targeted at the consumer market, equipped with the Windows Mobile 6 Standard OS, which does not support touch-screen functionality.
