The N-Gage gaming platform, once a failure, is making up for past disappointments and this is no exception. Those who have been familiar with the Yamake game is now up for some creativity issues.

Players will now be able to implement their own games using content from a variety of mini games. Basically, users can now use design tools to create their own mini games such as picture puzzles and quizzes using text, pictures, sound clips and movies from their the mobile device. Others could also use their personal computers as well.

Those who want to take full advantage have a variety of options as well. They can get those features from the N-Gage Arena, Yamake community online as well as MMS. Gaming could very well evolve with this latest development.

It seems like next year could be a big year for the music industry as well as for Nokia. The company announced that it will launch a new service next year that allows consumers who buy specific Nokia phones to download music for free for a year after they purchase the unit.

The company is working with Universal Music for this year-long offer. Called “Comes With Music”, this service from the company will let people to download as many songs as they want during the year after they buy the phone. Afterwards, they can still keep the music after the year is over. According to Nokia, the service will be offered initially with the company’s Nseries devices. In due time, it will eventually come to a broader range of Nokia phones. In addition, consumers will be able to download the music to both their phone and their PC.

The man, named Norman Sievewright said he was asleep in bed about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when he woke to a loud bang. He later found his cell phone battery in flames on the carpet. The phone had been charging while he was asleep. The phone is said to be made by Nokia.

It was in August of this year when the company sent an advisory regarding faulty batteries in some of its phones. It stated that about 46 million Nokia-branded BL-5C batteries were vulnerable to a short circuit that could cause them to overheat while recharging, and offered to replace them for customers who are concerned.

Nokia did not issue a recall. The batteries were manufactured by the Matsushita Battery Industrial Co. Ltd. and sold in a wide range of Nokia phones.

Nokia Corp., seems to be not stopping at all in its bid to bolster its stock as a mobile phone company. The phone company is planning to add WiMax connectivity to its N-series Internet tablet next year, the company announced in a statement last week.

For the uninitiated, WiMax is a wide-area networking technology that offers faster download speeds than 3G mobile networks and has a wider range than Wi-Fi. Adding WiMax support to the Internet tablets will allow users to surf the Web or make calls using Skype Ltd. away from Wi-Fi hotspots. This will make Nokia’s Internet tablets to use Intel Corp.’s Broad Peak WiMax chipset, the same chip that will be used inside upcoming Centrino laptops that support WiMax. Currently, Nokia is using a version of the Linux operating system.

The current plan is limited to users in the United States. So far, there are no immediate plans announced for other territories.

Nokia is heating up the lines and the Web with a new strategy which the company surely hopes will vault the company in the field of multimedia phones. In case you are wondering, the Finnish company is gearing up for their own wave of multimedia phones really soon. This is where their newest portal comes into the fray.

Ovi, the name of the portal, is their go-to site for online gaming, music, mapping and social networking services. First off, though is an updated version of Nokia’s mobile gaming platform, N-Gage Arena. Currently, it only fits with the phone of the same name. Soon, it could work with other Nokia units as well. Top game publishers have signified their intention to support the service as well. Moreover, the mobile phone titan has also signified that they would offer free trials of the games on Ovi.

In case you were wondering, Ovi is the Finnish word for door…

Just days away from the news that a certain company has recalled its laptop batteries, now comes news of another faulty battery issue. This time, it is the mobile world’s turn to face the music. Nokia warned its many consumers that up to 46 million batteries used in some of its cell phones could be faulty and even pose a risk of overheating. Scary stuff, indeed.

The news advisory applies to batteries manufactured by Matsushita from December 2005 to November 2006, the mobile phone maker said. Nokia has identified that in very rare cases the BL-5C batteries could potentially experience overheating initiated by a short circuit while charging, causing the battery to dislodge. There have been approximately 100 incidents of overheating reported globally. All of the approximately 100 incidents have occurred while charging the battery.

To determine if your Nokia phone may be one of the affected products, the said Nokia battery will have “Nokia” and “BL-5C” printed on the front of the battery. On the reverse, the Nokia mark appears at the top and the battery identification number (that has 26 characters) is found at the bottom.

Nokia is making sure they are in the news for the right reasons. Just barely two weeks ago, it was reported they acquiesced itself with a small company that had oodles of potential to strkie a chord in the mobile world, not to mention the whole technological community. Now, they are going to network the users via their network. Makes sense?

After acquiring Twango, a media sharing site, the mobile phone giant is now launching a closed beta of a new mobile social networking site. Mobile Sharing, or the more chic sounding Mosh for short, lets anyone upload and share among other things: video, images, ringtones, games and mobile applications from their mobile phones. The site has many features of other social networking sites, including the ability to tag and share content with others and even create collections of content.

The site is actually free-of-charge. Moreover, it is not exclusively for Nokia phone users. Those with WAP-enabled phones could access it.

If you are one of those manic mobile users, then you probably like to spruce up your cellular phones by a notch or two. For those who are really looking forward to have a banging phone through music, you cannot go wrong with these speakers!

The Nokia MD-4 Mini Speakers may just be small in the outside but, as the tired cliche goes, big things come in small packages. This little one really wallops them all! Check out the specs for good measure:

1) Weight: 130 g

2) 2 Standard battery AA type Alkaline

3) 2 speakers

4) Portable speakers

Have we evn mentioned that it fits people who are on the go? See, these speakers are foldable and so thin you can simply slide it into your pocket. So, are you ready for a music phone-changing experience?
