The Motorola i570 is albout looking tough and doing the job right. It is a no-frills phone that goes for the jugular in terms of performing like a phone should be. While it would not attract the most stylish of persons, it certainly will be a good buy for those who want it simple.

The phone’s external display is basic as well and cannot be customized. It shows basic information like caller ID, date, time, battery life and signal strength. The main display is measured at 1.5 inches and has 64,000 color screen and one could alter some of the features. The navigation array features a five-way toggle.

The call quality is decent enough and the controls are quite comfortable to use. Some features of the i570 include voice dialing, a voice recorder, a speakerphone, a notepad, call timers, and call forwarding. For basic phones, this is one phone you cannot possibly go wrong.

Motorola Rokr E8 - the Rokr E8 not only continues the Motorola craze of subtracting vowels from their products, it also features some technological innovations that the manufacturer has long been advocating in every release. Check this out: Press the music icon, and the phone keypad vanishes, replaced by traditional MP3-player control keys. Turn it off, and it goes dark except for the scroll wheel. It also comes with Song ID music-identification application and a built-in FM radio.

Giorgio Armani-Samsung - now Samsung has entered the fray of making a fashion statement out of cell phones. They have collaborated with renowned designer Giorgio Armani to come up with this. It has a touch screen, music player and a built-in 3-megapixel camera.

Samsung Seranata - teaming up this time with audiophiles from Bang & Olufsen, this phone is a music player and more. It supports HSDPA, GSM, and EDGE data networks.

Like previous years, the CES is a platform for many manufacturers to showcase their latest designs, as well as upcoming releases. Some would be good while some would be panned. The CES is especially famous for many mobile maniacs as it presented some cool phones. Some of them were:

Moto Z10 - Motorola featured a uniquely designed slider phone. It supports, among others, HSDPA and GSM/EDGE. However, what sets it apart is its video editing software. This could be one feature that might set the bar for many others.

Sony Ericsson Z555 - This clamshell phone could very well be too tempting for the fashion-conscious buyer. With a diamond-patterned exterior, it makes sure it has a purpose. It has a motion sensor that silences the phone. Muting the handset never looked so cool. Women would find this cool also.

Motorola, currently known as a mobile company that is aiming to go up further in the ranks, may be assuming a new strategy. Its latest acquisition could be geared as the first step in its bid to become a more intense player in the cell phone brands wars. The way they are shaping the company up is through mobile tunes.

The company recently acquirec Soundbuzz. For those not familiar with that brand name, it is a Singapore-based company that is involved in digital music in Asia. Thus, a lot of insiders are currently in belief of a theory that Motorola may be doing so in an attempt to shore up its MotoMusic service. Mobile music is the specialty of Soundbuzz so the acquisition makes perfect sense.

Soundbuzz has made a killing in the field of mobile music in Asia. Motorola hopes that the popularity of ringtones and ringback tones in the region remains for quite a long time. Some have indicated that this latest move could vault Motorola in the region in terms of mobile music.

This new phone is not a quad-band that most of you out there have become familiar with. Since it hooked up with Nextel, this phone is an iDen phone for you. And the Nextel influence is all over the phone. Simply check out its design and judge it for yourself.

The Motorola i335 is a phone that is indeed tough and durable. It also sports a thin profile. Thus, it simply goes for performance rather than go for the gold in the looks department. This phone, that is a candy bar-type, is measured at 4.7 inches by 1.8 inches by 0.5 inch and weighs in at 3.7 ounces. It has good enough features like Bluetooth and voice dialing.

The call quality makes sure that you would be able to have an excellent time at contacting your loved ones. In short, what the Motorola i335 lacks in looks, it more than makes up for the performance level.

The Motorola W490 is a basic phone from a company that seemed to be focused on their more fashionable designed phones lately. The phone has a slender design with some boxy angles, measuring at 3.89Â x 1.89Â x 0.68 inches and weighing at 3.7 ounces. The weight could be said to be a bit heavy for a flip phone, though. The W490 comes in three colors: black, purple and green.

The W490 has a square external display that supports 65,000 colors and shows information such as date, time, battery life, signal and photo caller ID. The internal display is 1.8 inches and has a 176 x 220 pixels resolution and supports 262,000 colors. The phone has some decent features such as Bluetooth, voice commands, and a speakerphone.

One feature that did not really fly off well was the camera. The photo quality was not only a disappointment, it was said to be disastrous. The voice quality could also use some help. Still, this basic phone scores points for practicality.

This music phone, called Z6m follows its predecessor which was maligned in some quarters and some have gone so far as to say it failed quite miserably in many departments. This slider-phone is said to be looking more like something from the Motorola Rizr series. The Z6m comes in a silver hue and is definitely eye-catching as well.

The display measures 2 inches and supports 65,000 colors. Checking in at a light 3.7 ounces and measures at 4.15 x 1.79 x 0.62 inches, it is well-built. External controls include a volume rocker, the Motorola smart key, a headset jack, a voice-dialing button, a handset lock switch, and the mini-USB port.

Features include MP3 tones, stereo Bluetooth, voice recognition, a speakerphone, a voice recorder, a vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock.

Motorola is one of the phone manufacturers credited for the smart phone revolution. Of course, they were not the ones who made the first one. However, it could be said that they were the first ones who innovated the smart phone today. Thus, the smart phone is no longer applicable to the business type template nowadays. In fact, Motorola’s version of the smart phone broadened its reach, making non business people reach out and buy one of their own.

Now, Motorola has released the Q9m, a revamped version of their previous smart phone. With a partnership with Verizon Wireless, they have made a few adjustments to their phone. It now possesses a sleek QWERTY keyboard as well as Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition to boost its stock to may consumers out there. Round and curvy edges for its shape adds to its sexiness while its color and grip is also nice. At 4.7 ounces, it is also light. Its multimedia capabilities are also something to marvel at.

It was formed by six of the biggest names in the cell phone business to promote the use of Linux of handsets. Now, it looks like it could propell the platform to new heights in terms of mobile usability.

Aplix Corp., Celunite Inc., LG Electronics Inc., McAfee Inc. and Wind River Systems Inc.; and new associate members are ARM Inc., Broadcom Corp., Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson, Innopath Software, KTF Co. Ltd., MontaVista Software Inc. and NXP B.V. have recently joined the founding members of LiMo Foundation to promote the use of Linux in handheld devices. It could be recalled that the six original members were mobile world titans Motorola Inc., NEC Corp., Panasonic Mobile Communications Co. Ltd. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., and carriers NTT DoCoMo Inc. and Vodafone Group Services Ltd.

With the big support it has gotten, the first phones that would incorporate the Linux platforms are widely expected to hit stores next year.

What Motorola has for us is completely new package that breathes new life to the franchise. The phone that probably started the whole trend has come back to reclaim its throne, so to speak.

The Motorola Razr2 V9m is as slim as they come. There is a hardened glass on the front and a steel casing to go with it. The updated design instantly gives it a sexy feel. The features set is also satisfactory. The call and music quality also stands out from the pack. The phone is also user-friendly which has become the norm for the series.

The video-streaming presents the most ominous sign that the Razr2 is far from being perfect. Also, the low resolution of the internal display puts it down a notch quite a bit.
