Once available in limited capacity, the mobile video application can now become part of a bigger number of phone users as its expansion gets underway. This is possible through various mobile tecnologies being supported.

YouTube was previously a part of a deal with three companies: Apple, Verizon and Helio. With this recent development, can now be used on phones that can run video streaming and are supported by any 3G operator. This means it could be part of 100 million phone devices. Also, there have been a number of updates in the features.

The new mobile offerings will be available to users in 17 countries in 11 languages. These features could possibly make the YouTube brand the most popular application in mobile phones.

It is sure looking to be a bit different in the mobile technology world. It seems it would not even be a North American mobile telecom carrier that would take aim at the Google Android platform. Rather, reports have indicated that a Japanese mobile telecom carrier would be the first to have a crack at it.

NTT DoCoMo, regarded as the number one mobile telecom carrier in Japan, said it is considering a cell phone based on the technology. It is said to include getting support for I-mode, DoCoMo’s hit mobile Internet service, on the Android platform.

The Google Android is a Linux-based platform for cell phones that will combine open-source components and include an operating system, middleware stack, customizable user interface and applications. The alliance will reportedly see Google products and applications added to DoCoMo handsets. These will include the addition of a Google search box on the main I-mode menu page from which users will access mobile and PC Web sites. Google Ads will also appear alongside search results.

One of the most helpful mobile phone related sites I see today are those price comparison websites. I used to hop from one store to another opening each store on a separate tab in my Firefox browser. Now, with sites such as savebuckets.co.uk I can just type in what I want and it’ll return a couple of online stores that sell that phone together with the price.

I tried keying in “black nokia n95″ and it returned this .

From that page, I get a list of websites, their price, a quick description of the unit, a photo of the phone, and some nice details.

Oh, btw, they’re not limited to mobile phone only. I was also trying to look for a good deal for a “sony playstation 3 40GB”. I was able to look at prices on other stores that I didn’t know exist.

I think these product based search engines are a very useful tool when we do product research and checking out which store offers the best price/value. A real timesaver if you ask me.

So what other price comparison search engines do you use? Maybe I’ll compile a list someday.

Maybe it just got better for many others as well. They have recently announced that they are updating their features to attract iPhone users as well. During the MacWorld conference, an update of its popular mapping and e-mail software especially for the iPhone will be made.

The new Google interfaces will include the addition of auto-complete to hasten e-mail composition. In addition to that, they should include the ability to access iGoogle widgets while browsing the Web with an iPhone. Moreover, the speed of Gmail and Calendar features have been improved.

iPhone users will also be able to customize their Google toolbar in order to make their personal favorite applications more accessible. Thus, Google could become an integral part of many iPhones from now on. This also marks another breakthrough from the MacWorld conference.

Yahoo is joining forces with mobile phone company America Movil to provide mobile Web services to 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The two companies have agreed to make Yahoo’s oneSearch service the default on America Movil’s wireless carriers’ portals. The company has released a free download that allows the users of BlackBerry smart phones to sync their device with the company’s application called Google Calendar. Thing is, how so?

Actually, it is quite easy. The phone users can go to m.google.com/sync via their BlackBerry’s Web browser to download and install the software. Another step is to install it on their PC running the BlackBerry desktop software, and then install it to the BlackBerry via a USB connection later on.

Syncing the Google Calendar to the BlackBerry lets users view their schedule even when the wireless reception is poor or unavailable, such as when they are riding a subway or airplane.

There is a new player in the world of iPhone features: Google. The high-profile company proved that they would make huge strides once more even in the world of mobile technology as they have developed two ways to infuse into the iPhone. Topping the list is their support for its online photo gallery service Picasa on the Apple Cor. product.

It is clear that Google is taking the iPhone seriously as well. The company has completely redesigned and optimized Picasa’s mobile interface for the iPhone. The images are proportioned to fit the unit’s screen, and control buttons have been fixed in order to be easier to navigate with an iPhone user’s fingers.

Moreover, Google has also introduced an iPhone-only slideshow feature that automatically flips through a user’s favorite photo albums. This is a feature that is distinct to the iPhone once more. Clearly, Google and iPhone are in sync with each other.

It seems like next year could be a big year for the music industry as well as for Nokia. The company announced that it will launch a new service next year that allows consumers who buy specific Nokia phones to download music for free for a year after they purchase the unit.

The company is working with Universal Music for this year-long offer. Called “Comes With Music”, this service from the company will let people to download as many songs as they want during the year after they buy the phone. Afterwards, they can still keep the music after the year is over. According to Nokia, the service will be offered initially with the company’s Nseries devices. In due time, it will eventually come to a broader range of Nokia phones. In addition, consumers will be able to download the music to both their phone and their PC.

Third Generation cellular networking is being used by Amazon.com to deliver their electronic books. This is all with the help of Sprint Nextel’s 3G cell network.

Users of the Kindle could select and buy books with the device and download them in less than one minute. Moreover, the users can also buy newspaper in just a jiffy or even subscribe to daily newspapers, magazines and blogs for a monthly fee. Newspapers are actaully delivered overnight and blogs several times a day. All of these through Sprint Nextel 3G.

The good thing is, it will not even reflect on the service bill. Why is that? That is because the cost will be included in the price of the content.

Ever felt that the iPhone news bonanza would dip after the successful hacking? Think again. Of course, for those who do not want to mess with the wrath of Steve Jobs and the rest of Apple Co., they are hoping for further positive news regarding the iPhone. Unfortunately for them, it has become hard to come by these days.

Until this one occurred. The company Ambrosia Software has just introduced the iToner 1.0.0. It is a new utility for Mac OS X that would enable iPhone consumers and owners to create and install custom ringtones to their prized acquisition. With the iToner, one has to simply drag and drop audio files onto the interface and click a button. The utility then installs the custom ringtones on to the iPhone. The interface of the application itself actually seems to replicate the iPhone, to make it as easy as it should be.

The company also disclosed that the software works without having to modify or even hack an iPhone unit, in order for the custom ringtones to continue to work with future iPhone OS updates.
