So it comes as no surprise that the best accessory for the past twelve months was a Bluetooth headset. We are talking about the Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth headset. This beauteous gizmo is both comfy and a sound quality that fits everybody’s needs.

First, the negative as to get it out of the way. The Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth headset has no volume rocker. Seriously. That is why you cannot achieve a great sound by simply increasing or decreasing the volume. Instead, there are five volume settings to choose from to get to your desired voulume.

The goods? It is fashionable. That design just blows everything else out of the water. The audio quality is simply superb. It nestles in your ear comfortably that it is not distracting at all. Some other features of the headset include voice-dialing support and a battery strength indicator.

Â

Apple has found a suitable partner to go along with their very innovative mobile product iPhone. With the iPhone Bluetooth Headset, the much-talked about mobile phone has a headset that is just the right accessory for such a product of popularity. However, just like the aforementioned phone, this headset does not come cheap. Its price tag is actually quite steep.

Light, black and skinny, the Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset is as stylish as they come, matching the iPhone’s sexiness and style. Using it together, it is quite easy and it fits to a T. Moreover, headset comes with a charging dock plus USB cable. The charging dock has two slots, one for the iPhone, and one for the Bluetooth headset. The call quality was good too.

However, just like the iPhone once more, the lack of basic features is kind of a letdown, considering the amount you have to shell out in order to have one.

I’ve found a site that has a cell phone battery finder. Just click on your phone brand and mondel and you can find out what cell phone batteries are compatible with your phone.

Popular brands such as Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Kyocera, LG, Sanyo, siemens, Ericsson, and Audiovox has a dedicated quick access icon. For those unpopular brands, just click on the first letter of the brand (A..Z), and it’ll show all the supported brands.

Even replacement chargers are there. I’ve bookmarked it myself.

That is how it is shaping up lately in the mobile phone industry. After a few years of coming up with new launches and releases of slim and ultra-slim and thin and thinner phones, two companies are finding ways to settle the thin issue once and for all. This time though, they would not even be focusing on the handle at all.

How about finding out for yourself what is the thinnest cell phone screen is out there. Sharp and AU Optronics are both claiming to have had success in developing prototype displays that are less than a millimeter thick. In Sharp’s part, their LCD prototype diplay screen measures 2.2-inches across the diagonal and is just 0.68 millimeters thick.

On the other hand, AUO screen is a 1.9-inch model that is just 0.69 millimeters thick. So, brace yourself for thinner cell phone screens in a few years time.

The United Kingdom-based telecommunications company has announced something that was definitely unthinkable until they though of it first. They are planning to launch a product called The Orange Mobile Wind Charger. The product is just that, as the name states: a charger powered by the wind. Specifically, it is a mini turbine that latches on to the top of a tent and stores power in a separate control box that allows users to plug into when their mobiles need that much sought-after power.

Gotwind, a do-it-yourself website for energy enthusiasts, was commissioned to build the prototype charger and the said charger weighs approximately at a third of a pound. There has been no official release date or pricing details that have been set as of yet.

While iTunes continue its stronghold of most downloaded tunes, you should not forget about the who is trailing behind it. EMusic, in an effort to gain ground as well as much needed public attention, is planning to announce a deal it has made with network giant AT&T. It is a deal that will allow people to buy songs from independent labels throught their very own phones.

Yes, one only has to be in possession of a cellphone, instead of a computer, to have access to a lot of songs from EMusic’s database. Currently, the company is the United States’ second largest online music seller, just behind iTunes. What it makes up for that distinction is it allows mobile users to download songs from even obscure garage or punk rock bands they long to hear. This service is said to be accessible to various handsets, including Samsung and Nokia handsets.

EMusic is owned by Dimensional Associates and currently only has a marketing deal with AT&T. However, this deal might push them closer to their rivals. With songs costing a bit more than if bought online, this marks the first time songs can be bought through a wireless network.

If your phone has Bluetooth capabilities, there is that slight need for a headset and speakerphone, right? Well, not really but wouldn’t it be quite sweet if a product combines a Bluetooth headset and a Bluetooth speakerphone in one product? Well, that is what the mVox Duo Communicator is aiming for.

See, this earpiece aims to be the following all rolled into one:

1) all-in-one Bluetooth headset

2) VoIP headset

3) hands-free car kit

4) mobile conference phone

All of these and you can attach it to just about any phone. Imagine all these capabilities right into your handset. Measuring at 3 x 1.2 x 1 inches, it is a bit bulky for a Bluetooth headset. Granted, it is one of the least-fashion conscious gadgets out there (“clunky” as what ZDNet called it), it is still a better alternative to most multifunction headsets out there in the market today.

Another slight disadvantage hurled against this product is the complicated set-up design you need to unravel the software program used for voice recognition. Plus, that software can only be installed in a Windows PC.

Inspite all of these flaws, the mVox Duo Communicator has many features that would compensate for all of these. The positives still outweigh the negatives, however barely it may be.

Â
