According to a report by the newspaper The Strait Times, retailers in a mall in Singapore could be in a lot of trouble from Apple Corp. Yes, geniuses, it is once again another lawsuit emanating from the company’s highly controversial iPhone.
The company is up in arms over the issue of some retailers there selling unlocked versions of the iPhone. They have threatened to pursue legal action as well as damages amounting to almost $700 for every unlocked iPhone that was sold by the retailers of Sim Lin Square, a mall in Singapore. The said mall is known for being a haven for technology stuff.
The iPhone is not officially available in Singapore, but unlocked handsets have been on sale for some time in local electronics market, as they have in other countries around the region.
