If there was one thing that anoyed a lot of people regarding Apple Corp.’s iPhone, it was probably the absence of 3G support. For a highly-publicized phone that was touted to be the future of mobile communications, it sure was a downer not having a chance to have any 3G.
However, it may not be for long before the iPhone takes full advantage of this technology. In fact, AT&T expects Apple Corp. to make some changes in the iPhone next year. That is supposedly going to include 3G support. Now, the 3G network that has been part and parcel of many high-end phones is coming to the iPhone. By the way, obviously people should expect some price change to come along with that technology.
It could be remembered that when Apple released the iPhone domestically in June on AT&T’s network, the two companies used Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) or Enhanced GPRS (EGPRS).
